Artsakh ombudsman: Azerbaijan prepares its people for a war
“Azerbaijan does not advocate for peace - quite the opposite - it gradually prepares its people for a war as can been seen through acquired weapons and strengthening of its anti-Armenian policy,” Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan told reporters on Saturday.
“That does not mean the war will definitely come as it depends on the power of Armenia, its security and economic capacities. The more powerful we are the less are the chances for a war,” Beglaryan said, pointing also to Azerbaijan’s unwillingness for a peaceful settlement.
“The status quo or the cold war at least will take a long time, and I hope the Azerbaijani public will realize one day that it is in the interest of all to get neighborly relations, choose the dialogue, face the past and admit own mistakes. We can then live side by side in peace and stability in this region,” Beglaryan said.
