Two earthquakes recorded in Shirak province
An earthquake of 2,4 magnitude was registered 19 km south-east of Ashotsk village of Shirak province on Saturday at about 08:20 (GMT 04:20), Armenia’s National Service for Seismic Protection at the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported, adding the geographical coordinates of the epicenter were northern latitude 40.930 and eastern longitude 44.03. The epicenter of the earthquake was on the depth of 10 kilometers.
According to the source, the earthquake was felt in Gyumri town and Dzorashen village.
Meanwhile, another earthquake of 3.6 magnitude was recorded at about 05:28 (GMT 01:28),
10 km south-east of Ashotsk village. In the epicenter the magnitude of the earthquake was registered 4-5 points and was felt in number of settlement on Shirak and Lori provinces, including in Gyumri and Spitak towns.
