Lawyers: Son of ex-Armenian minister Gagik Khachatryan not arrested
Lawyers representing the family of Gagik Khachatryan, a former Armenian minister of finance and chairman of the State Revenues Committee, refute media reports alleging his son has been arrested on money laundering charges.
In an article entitled "What has Gagik Khachatryan's son done?”, Zhoghovurd Daily said the National Security Service had arrested Gurgen Khachatryan on charges of money laundering five months after his father’s arrest.
“We officially announce that the information contained in the article does not correspond to reality. Gagik Khachatryan's son has not been arrested, he has not been charged with money laundering,” lawyers said in a statement, urging media outlets to refrain from spreading disinformation, which “could cause serious harm.”
