Trump breaks record for number of tweets in one day as president
US President Trump tweeted more on the day the House presented its impeachment case against him than any other day during his presidency.
As of 6:35 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Trump had tweeted 142 times, Washington Examiner reported, citing Factbase Feed, which monitors the president’s tweets, Facebook posts, speeches, and interviews. The previous record was 123 tweets in one day, which was set in December.
It also looked possible that Trump could beat the record number of tweets from his personal Twitter handle @realDonaldTrump, which registered 161 tweets in January 2015.
Most of Trump’s day was spent traveling to D.C. from a meeting at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Most of the tweets were focused on his impeachment and included both original tweets and retweets from other lawmakers.
