Some roads in Armenia closed, difficult to pass
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:40am Friday, January 24, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks and difficult to pass for passenger vehicles.
Sotk-Karvachar highway is difficult to pass for trucks and open for other types of vehicles.
Syunik Province roads are partly covered with clear ice.
Snowfalls are reported in Syunik Province, the towns of Ashtarak, (Aragatsotn Province), Yeghegnadzor (Vayots Dzor Province), Chambarak and Vardenis (Gegharkunik Province), as well as on Sotk-Karvachar highway.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of vehicles.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
