PM says Armenia’s external forex reserves stand at unprecedented level
Armenia's Foreign Exchange Reserves stood at 2.8 USD bln in 2019, which is more by 28 per cent to compare with the data of 2018, Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan stated at a press conference on Saturday. In the PM’s words, the Central Bank of Armenia bought 565 mln. USD and without sale.
“This is an unprecedented index in the history of the third republic which ensures the reliability and stability of the country’s financial system,” the PM said.
Pashinyan pointed to the third issue of USD-denominated Eurobonds at a total amount of 500 mln USD maturity of 10 years. The yield on the placement at 3.95 per cent will serve
the state debt by the Armenian government, annually saving annually 10 mln USD.
