Armenia acquired unprecedented amount of weapons – PM
The budget allocations for the defense ministry will amount for 307 billion AMD (around 640 million USD) in 2020 which is an 28% increase to compare with the 2018 data, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on Saturday during his press conference in Kapan town.
In the words of the PM, since May 2018 Armenia has obtained unprecedented amount of weapons and armament for the foreseeable future, SU-30SM fighter jets, TOR-M2 tactical surface-to-air missile systems and ASA and AKA air defense systems among them.
“The Armed Forces were equipped with artillery equipment, Zenit stations, firearms, armament, 310 units of vehicles. Testing of different weapons and weapons systems were conducted,” Pashinyan informed, adding the obtained weapon have been manufactured in 2019 or are not used at all.
