'We will miss you Kobe': Mkhitaryan pays tribute to basketball legend
Armenian national football team and Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan took to Facebook on Monday to pay tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
“Saddening moment for the world of sports. An inspiration, an icon, an everlasting winner you have been for so many athletes,” Mkhitaryan wrote. “We will miss you Kobe.”
US basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among nine people killed in the helicopter crash in the city of Calabasas, California.
Bryant, 41, and Gianna, 13, were travelling in a private helicopter when it came down and burst into flames, according to BBC News.
Bryant, a five-time NBA champion, played for the LA Lakers throughout his career and is considered one of the greatest players in the game's history.
