Opposition activists released from detention
Opposition activists who were earlier arrested by police have been released from detention. Member of Adekvat party Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan and founder of the VETO movement Narek Malyan told a press conference shortly after being released. As Malyan told reporters he was suspected in possessing illegal weapon. During the search at the Police station no illegal items were found with him.
Malyan, who is best known for his protests against the operation of operation of "Open Society Institute" in Yerevan known also as "Soros Foundation", said, his detention had been prompted by Larisa Alaverdyan, the head of the Foundation who had allegedly asked the PM to suspend his activity.
The head of VETO movement compared his detention by masked police officers with a scene from feature film.
