Head of Veto movement Narek Malyan kidnapped by masked men in Yerevan
The founder of VETO social-political movement Narek Malyan was kidnapped by masked people on Tuesday in Yerevan, political analyst Mihran Hakobyan wrote on his Facebook page, sharing the footage of the incident. “New stage of repressions. masked people violently kidnap public figure Narek Malyan,” Hakobyan wrote.
The information was confirmed by lawyer Arsen Babayan, who wrote that whereabouts of Malyan is still unclear.
Maylan, who served as the advisor to the former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, has been the initiator of series of protests in front of the "Open Society Institute " known as "Soros Foundation" in Yerevan, and a staunch opponent of authorities.
