More ceasefire violations reported amid Geneva talks - Artsakh Defense Army
The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact over 200 times in the past week, the country’s defense ministry reported on Saturday. In the period from January 26 to February 1, the adversary fired around 1150 shots towards the Armenian defense positions from firearms of different calibers, the ministry added.
To note, the incidents of ceasefire violations increased this week to compare with the previous week when overall 130 breaches of the ceasefire regime were recorded. The increase of ceasefire violations comes amid the Geneva talk over the NK peace process between Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs held on 29-31 January.
The statement next added that the frontline units of the Defense Army fully control the situation on the frontline and continue taking necessary measures to ensure the reliable protection of the combat positions.
