Coronavirus prevention commission held its regular session
The governmental commission for coordination of works to prevent the spread of coronavirus held its regular meeting on February 4 chaired by Armenia’s Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan. As the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister reported in a release, the representatives of the governmental agencies discussed the current situation around the new type of coronavirus and the preventive measures undertaken in the republic. The meeting also addressed issues related to the return of Armenian citizens currently residing in China.
Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, in attendance, informed about the works conducted with international partners and the operation of the Armenian embassy in China that provides necessary support to RA citizens. Health Minister Arsen Torosyan, in turn, presented the preventive measures in place and the steps aimed at raising awareness among the public. In his words, around 200 new diagnostic tests are expected from the World Health Organization soon.
