Armenian citizen evacuated from China’s Wuhan, airlifted to Russia
An Armenian citizen identified as Lyudmila Baghdasaryan has been evacuated from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, upon her own request and has been flown to Russia as a result of cooperation with the Russian authorities, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The Armenian Embassy is in constant contact with our citizen and steps are being taken to arrange her repatriation as soon as possible.
“We express our deep gratitude to our Russian colleagues for responding promptly to Armenia's request and providing assistance,” the statement read.
The ministry said the evacuation of citizens is being carried out exclusively from Hubei Province put under quarantine. Other Armenian citizens in Hubei have refused to be evacuated.
