Wednesday morning update on road conditions
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 9:42am Wednesday, February 5, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Vardenyats Pass is closed.
The roadway leading to Tsovagyugh village of Gegharkunik Province (snowstorm reported), Sotk-Karvachar highway (snowstorm reported) and Artik-Alagyaz highway of Shirak Province are difficult to pass.
The roads of Syunik Province, Tsaghkahovit region of Aragatsotn Province, Kuchak-Aparan and Yerevan-Sevan highways are partly covered with clear ice.
Snowfalls are reported in the town of Ashtarak of Aragatsotn Province and on Saravan-"Zanger" roadway.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed for all types of vehicles.
A total 550 trucks are reportedly stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
