Thursday morning update on road conditions
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:40am Thursday, February 6, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Vardenyats Pass is closed for all types of vehicles.
Sotk-Karvachar highway is difficult to pass.
The roadways of Kotayk Province, Tsaghkahovit region of Aragatsotn Province, Ashotsk and Amasia regions of Shirak Province, Yerevan-Sevan and Kuchak-Aparan highways, as well as Saravan-"Zanger" road section are partially clear ice-covered.
Fog has descended on Chayni turns.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for passenger cars and closed only for trucks.
A total 580 trucks are reportedly stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
