Armenian military police reveal violations during surprise visits to military units
Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan has ordered the Military Police to make unannounced visits to numerous military units of the Armenian Armed Forces, the Defense Ministry reported.
The visits are aimed at checking the state of military discipline, particularly the participation of servicemen in the combat readiness trainings.
The Defense Ministry said military police officers have revealed a number of violations during the inspections.
A group of servicemen not attending the trainings have been detained, while the commanders who failed to oversee the military discipline will be under internal investigation.
The ministry said that the surprise visits will be continuous, adding the offenders will be severely punished.
