Friday morning update on road conditions
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:30am Friday, February 7, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Vardenyan Pass and Aparan-Nigavan highway of Aragatsotn Province are closed to all traffic.
Sotk-Karvachar, Kayk-Vardenis, Sipan-Geghadzor highways, the roadways of Yeghipatrush and Mravyan villages of Aragatsotn Province, as well as the Tsaghkahovit region roads are difficult to pass.
Kapan-Goris highway, as well as Saravan-“Zanger” and Sisian-“Zanger” road sections are partly black ice-covered.
Snowstorm has hit Ashotsk and Amasia regions of Shirak Province.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for passenger cars and closed only to trucks.
A total 430 trucks are reportedly stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
