Thursday morning update on road conditions
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:30am Thursday, February 13, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Sisian-Goris highway of Syunik Province, the roadways leading to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province, Sotk-Karvachar highway and Vardenyats Pass are closed.
The roadway connecting Sevan Peninsula to the village of Tsovagyukh, as well as the roads of Amasia region of Shirak Province are difficult to pass.
Snowstorm has hit Syunik Province.
The roads of Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, Shirak Provinces, as well as Kuchak-Aparan highway and Tsaghkahovit village roads are partially covered with clear ice.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open to all traffic.
More than 1,000 trucks are reportedly stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
