Syrian parliament to vote on resolution recognizing Armenian Genocide
The Syrian parliament is set to vote on a resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, parliament’s secretary Rami Saleh said.
According to Kantsasar Weekly, the resolution introduced by the Syrian-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship Group, recognizes and condemns the Armenian Genocide and the genocide of other representatives of the Syrian people by the Ottoman Turks in the early 20th century.
Also, Rami Saleh said that Syrian parliament previously touched upon the issue of the Armenian Genocide and paid tribute to the memory of the innocent victims, but it’s also necessary to adopt a decision condemning the crime.
