Armenian PM chairs consultation on military fatalities
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on Monday chaired a consultation on the recent fatalities reported in the army, his office reported.
Attending the meeting were Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan, Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, Acting Director of the National Security Service Eduard Martirosyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan, Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, Chairman of the Investigation Committee Hayk Grigoryan, other senior officials of the Armed Forces and law-enforcement agencies.
The circumstances and causes of recent deaths in the military were discussed in detail. Those in charge of the relevant agencies presented reports on the criminal cases initiated.
PM Pashinyan prioritized the solution of the issues related to the criminal subculture and discipline in the Armed Forces and stressed the need to take consistent measures to sharply increase the level of discipline, giving appropriate instructions to those in charge.
