Some roads in Armenia closed, difficult to pass
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:50am Monday, February 17, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The roadways leading to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province will be closed for an indefinite period of time.
Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks, while Sotk-Karvachar highway is difficult to pass.
Jermuk-Gorayk highway is closed as well.
The roads of Syunik and Kotayk Provinces, as well as Aparan and Aragats regions of Aragatsotn Province are partially covered with clear ice.
The intercommunity roads of Ashotsk and Amasia regions are also heavy-going.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open to all vehicles.
Around 1,000 trucks are said to be stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
