Armenian army chief: Personnel changes expected
Personnel changes are expected in the Armed Forces, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan told reporters on Tuesday after being summoned to the parliament to discuss the recent fatalities in the military.
“There will be personnel changes which will be officially announced,” he said.
Commenting on the possible resignation of the Artsakh defense minister, the army chief said it’s for the Artsakh leadership to decide on the matter.
"I cannot make any comments; we must obey any decision taken by the leadership. It will be announced officially,” he said.
Meanwhile, Davtyan was reluctant to talk about the ongoing and future work in the army, adding they are very comprehensive. He said he had discussed them with deputies for over two hours.
"We agreed to fill the information gap and try to find a way to make the public more aware of the work being done," he said.
As for his possible resignation, Davtyan said: "I'm not going to resign."
