Judge rules out crisis in Armenia's highest court
A judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, Felix Tokhyan rules out a crisis in the county’s highest court alleged by the Armenian authorities.
“There has been no constitutional crisis neither before nor after [judge] Vahe Grigoryan's arrival,” he told reporters during a break of the Constitutional Court session on Tuesday.
Addressing the criticism that the top court repeatedly covered up the election frauds committed by the former authorities, Felix Tokhyan said: “The Constitutional Court is neither the organizer nor the supervisor of elections, therefore it has no objective opportunity at all to falsify them. You had better ask them why they want to put the blame on us, making us the scapegoat. I am ready to sign all the decisions that I signed in the past 20 years today as well.”
The judge also added that the Constitutional Court made decisions on the basis of documents provided by the Central Electoral Commission, Prosecutor's Office and police, and could not make any other decision.
