Armenia celebrates Book Giving Day
Book Giving Day is annually celebrated in Armenia on February 19, the birthday anniversary of renowned Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan. The holiday is now very popular in the country.
Armenia has been celebrating the Book Giving Day since 2008 at the initiative of Levon Ananyan, the late chairman of Writers Union of Armenia.
Diverse programs and events will take place at a total of 12 libraries under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport to mark the Book Giving Day.
Book presentations, book donations, meetings, exhibition fairs, quiz shows, game competitions, interactive readings, discussions with authors, movie and cartoon screenings, to name a few, are also scheduled for the day.
The National Gallery of Armenia will host the presentation of "Tumanyan-Komitas-150" album art at 4pm.
