Armenian Genocide bill introduced in Ukrainian parliament
A new bill on commemoration of the Armenian Genocide has been submitted to Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament), Ermenihaber reported. As the source said, the document has been authored by member of the Servant of the People party Daria Volodina.
The head of the Union of Armenians in Ukraine Vilen Shatvoryan has praised the initiative of the lawmaker, describing it as a step toward humanity, truth, and justice.
The source reminds that over the past 10 years this has been the fourth legislative initiative about the Armenian Genocide and submitted in the Ukrainian parliament. All previous initiatives had been blocked at certain stage of the legislative procedure.
