Stepantsminda-Larsi highway closed for trucks
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:40am Wednesday, February 26, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The roadways leading to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province will be closed for an indefinite period of time.
Vardenyats Pass is closed for trailer trucks and difficult to pass for other vehicles.
Sotk-Karvachar highway is difficult to pass.
Sotk-Karvachar and Sevan-Gavar highways, as well as “Meghri Sar'' and Saravan-''Zanger'' road sections are partially covered with clear ice.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed for trucks and open for other types of vehicles.
Some 483 trucks are said to be stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
