22 EU states have ratified CEPA – deputy minister
The development of Armenia-EU relations is among the priorities of Armenia’s foreign relations, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts stated on Wednesday during the parliamentary hearings on the enforcement of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
As the deputy minister described the dialogue with the EU proceeds in a dynamic way, as the EU remains one of the key trade partners of Armenia working under the GSP+ preferential trade regime.
“Furthermore, the European Union remains a key partner of Armenia in implementing the agenda of ambitious reforms undertaken by the government, including the judicial, police reforms as well as combatting corruption, human rights protection, energy, environmental and other sectors,” Adonts said.
The deputy minister next informed that 22 member states of the organization have completed the ratification of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Five countries are finalizing the procedure and delays are explained with electoral processes in some of countries.
