Wednesday morning update on road conditions
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of 8:30am Wednesday, March 4, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. The roadways leading to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province will be closed for an indefinite period of time. Vardenyats Pass is closed only for trailer trucks. Sotk-Karvachar highway is closed for trailer trucks and difficult to pass for passenger vehicles. According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open to all vehicles. Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
