Mayor refutes reports that three coronavirus patients are Etchmiadzin residents
Mayor of Etchmiadzin Diana Gasparyan took to Facebook on Thursday to dismiss social media reports alleging that all the three people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Wednesday are from Etchmiadzin.
The mayor stressed only one of the new coronavirus patients in Armenia is a resident of Etchmiadzin.
“The patient is isolated, with the authorities determining the scope of his contacts,” she wrote.
“I am keeping in touch with Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan and will provide additional information if needed,” the mayor added.
Meantime, she urged Etchmiadzin residents not to panic and simply observe the safety and hygiene rules.
Armenia reported three new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the total of confirmed cases to four. Two of the patients are citizens of Armenia aged 45 and 27, while the third one is a 51-year-old Italian who works in Armenia.
