PM cuts short vacation amid new coronavirus cases
The Armenian Ministry of Health confirmed on Thursday two more cases of coronavirus, putting the total number of infected patients to six.
“Two new cases of novel coronavirus confirmed. The patients have been hospitalized at Nork Infection Clinic Hospital in Yerevan,” Health Minister Arsen Torosyan wrote in a Facebook post. The minister added that the new cases were confirmed in people who had been in close contact with infected patient from Echmiadzin and had been quarantined.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he cuts short his vacation and plans to hold a consultation with cabinet members to discuss the current situation around coronavirus. “The constitutional referendum campaign is postponed for now,” Pashinyan said, adding that educational institutions, including schools and kindergartens will be closed on Friday.
