All coronavirus patients in Armenia being treated at infectious diseases hospital
Armenia has confirmed a total of six coronavirus infections so far. All coronavirus patients, including an Etchmiadzin resident, are receiving treatment at Nork Infection Clinical Hospital in Yerevan.
Panorama.am reached the Ministry of Health for comments on whether there are other hospitals in Armenia which are ready to admit coronavirus patients and have appropriate conditions, equipment and medical staff to treat them.
The ministry's press service said that there are other medical facilities with infectious diseases departments in the country.
“Naturally, if an epidemic emerges, they will be ready to admit [coronavirus patients]. But at the moment the cases are not widespread and there is no such need. They are only housed at Nork Infection Clinical Hospital at the moment,” the ministry said.
57 people were placed under quarantine in Armenia on Thursday, the ministry reported.
