Minister of health assures the country has sufficient quantities of medication and food
No one can ban a restaurant employee or a manager to come to their workplace, yet mass gatherings – be those wedding parties, baptismal events will be banned” Armenia’s Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan told reporters at a briefing on Monday.
Asked to comment on possible shortages of provision of food and medication, the minister said no changes are expected. “The country has sufficient quantities of food and medication. We will have no delays what regards to those. Moreover, the expected restriction on crossing the borders does not apply to freights, and I am sure we will be able to overcome all difficulties,” said Torosyan.
To remind, the Armenian government is discussing the possibility of declaring a state of emergency in the country for one month in an effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Speaking at a special cabinet meeting on Monday, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan proposed declaring a state of emergency from March 16, 5pm local time, to April 16, 9am, arguing the spread of coronavirus poses threats to the constitutional order.
