Armenian citizens abroad can return home using Russia as transit country
According to a decision of the Russian government, citizens of the CIS member states, including Armenia, who are abroad and want to return to their homeland, can use the territory of Russian as a transit country, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
At the same time, Armenian citizens wishing to return from Russia to Armenia can use exclusively air transport due to a ban on the entry of foreigners into Georgia.
Therefore, the Foreign Ministry once again advises citizens not to try to return from Russia to Armenia by land.
“We strongly urge you to check the availability of flights before planning to travel to Armenia through transit countries,” the statement read.
