Five political forces win seats in Artsakh parliament
A total of 76,712 people or 73.5% of the Artsakh eligible voters cast their ballots in Tuesday’s parliamentary elections, Chairperson of the Artsakh Central Electoral Commission Srbuhi Arzumanyan said on Wednesday.
Some 2,418 ballot papers were declared invalid, she added.
As many as 10 parties and 2 alliances were running for seats in the Artsakh National Assembly.
Four parties and one bloc have overcome the 5 and 7 percent thresholds, respectively, to make it to the parliament.
The Free Homeland alliance was the biggest winner with 40.4% of votes. Also winning the parliament seats were the United Homeland party (23.63%), the Artsakh branch of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (6.4%), the Artsakh Justice Party (7.9%) and Artsakh Democratic Party (5.81%).
The Central Electoral Commission will announce the final distribution of seats between the political forces in seven days, the chairperson said.
