Today marks prominent Armenian actor Khoren Abrahamyan’s birthday
Today, April 1, marks the birthday anniversary of renowned Soviet-Armenian actor and director Khoren Abrahamyan. He would have turned 90 today.
Khoren Abrahamyan was born in 1930 in Yerevan. He graduated from the Yerevan Institute of Theater and Fine Arts in 1951. Since then, he worked as an actor, later – director and the executive director at Sundukyan State Academic Theater of Yerevan.
He also served as the artistic director of the Vardan Ajemyan Drama Theater of Leninakan (now Gyumri).
His most popular on-screen roles were the ones played in the movies Saroyan Brothers, We Are Our Mountains, The Chronicle of Yerevan Days, Hope Star, Live Long, etc.
The actor died on December 10, 2004 at the age of 74. He is buried at the Komitas Pantheon in Yerevan.
