Armenian PM comments on inaccuracies in coronavirus statistics
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called government members’ attention to the inaccuracies found in the country’s coronavirus statistics, stressing only 28 out of the 236 new tests have produced positive results, whereas the health authorities reported 40 new cases on Thursday morning.
“This means we continue to maintain the cautious optimism recorded at the beginning of the week, especially when the number of new recoveries is 24,” he told a cabinet meeting.
“We integrated the entire information on this matter in the past week, creating a digital system where the data are updated online. We have identified 12 inaccuracies as a result of clarifications. Of course, the inaccuracies will be further checked,” he said.
“We have to record that a total of 921 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Armenia since the outbreak of the disease; it would be 909 cases without recording those 12. Inaccuracies of the kind are possible due to inter-hospital patient transfer and discharge from a hospital and de jure non-registration in another,” he added.
