Former Armenian parliament staffer accepts ex-NSS chief’s proposal to enter active politics
The former deputy chief of the Armenian parliament staff, famous lawyer Arsen Babayan has announced his decision to step into active politics, joining the party led by former National Security Service (NSS) Director Artur Vanetsyan.
“I have decided to enter active politics. I would like to inform you that I am very proud to accept the proposal to team up with statesman, Major-General Artur Vanetsyan and to join efforts for the sake of our homeland,” he said in a Facebook post.
“I have never been involved in politics, nor have I joined or affiliated with any political party. I have carried out exclusively professional activities in the key institutions of our state.
“However witnessing the poor state management by the current authorities today, the incompetent cadre policy it pursues, how it administers selective justice and uses double standards on a daily basis and how it openly attacks our national values and institutions, I consider it my duty to be actively involved in the political processes, putting my knowledge and experience at the service of the development of our homeland,” the post read.
According to him, Armenia needs a “real revolution which would create an atmosphere of love, solidarity, creativity and tolerance” in the country.
“We are coming with new ideas and new vision for the development of our homeland,” he concluded.
