Armenian health minister reports 12th coronavirus death
Another coronavirus patient has died in Armenia, bringing the national death toll to 12, Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan said during a siting of the parliament’s Standing Committee on Health and Social Affairs on Friday.
The minister identified the victim as an 81-year-old citizen.
He stressed the low number of deaths is due to the government’s measures to tackle coronavirus for two months.
Torosyan said their key task is to keep the COVID-19 fatalities low and move forward.
According to the minister, the health system is a bit more confident today in terms of the number of beds and ventilators, although Armenia had 80 ventilators before acquiring new devices.
The number of coronavirus cases in Armenia reached 937 on Friday morning.
