Embassy: 230 citizens return to Armenia from Russia on charter flight
A total of 230 citizens returned to Armenia from Russia on a third Moscow-Yerevan charter flight, the Armenian Embassy in Russia said on Facebook, adding that it became possible to arrange the free departure of 201 citizens to the homeland through joint efforts.
The charter flight was operated by Red Wings Airlines from Domodedovo Airport in Moscow, the embassy said.
COVID-19 tests transmitted by Russia to the Armenian Ministry of Health, the reagents delivered to Moscow by transit from other countries and various necessary items were also transferred to Armenia by plane.
"We express our deep gratitude to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund (in cooperation with the Tashir Charitable Foundation) for its assistance in providing free repatriation to around 60 citizens.
“Meanwhile, 8 citizens who expressed a desire to leave for Armenia but were unable to take the flight were transferred from the airport to Noy hotel, while 30 others – to temporary accommodation in Podolsk,” the embassy said in a statement.
Earlier, the Armenian Embassy said that citizens returning to Armenia had been treated with sweets for Easter at the airport.
