66-year-old coronavirus patient dies at Yerevan hospital
Another patient has died from coronavirus at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan, bringing the national death toll to 17.
The deceased, identified as a 66-year-old man, had developed double pneumonia, Ministry of Health spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan said in a Facebook post.
In addition, the patient had chronic ischemic heart disease, which caused thrombosis of the superior mesenteric artery.
“Lower limb amputation was performed. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved,” she wrote.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has increased by 44 to 1,111 in Armenia as of Wednesday.
32 more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 297.
