Man, 73, dies from coronavirus at Yerevan hospital
A coronavirus patient has died at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, bringing the national death toll to 18.
The deceased, identified as a 73-year-old man, had developed double pneumonia, Ministry of Health spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan said in a Facebook post.
In addition, the patient had underlying chronic health conditions – ischemic heart disease and hypertension – which were further exacerbated during the treatment, she said.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has increased by 48 to 1,159 in Armenia as of Thursday.
61 more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 358.
