58-year-old coronavirus patient dies at Yerevan hospital
A coronavirus patient has died at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, bringing the national death toll to 19.
The deceased, identified as a 58-year-old man, had developed subtotal pneumonia, Ministry of Health spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan said in a Facebook post.
In addition, the patient had underlying chronic health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, hypertension and obesity. Acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction was diagnosed during the treatment, the spokesperson said.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has increased by 42 to 1,201 in Armenia as of Friday.
44 more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 402.
