Why beneficiaries of Armenia’s 9th coronavirus relief measure receive no response?
In recent days, a group of citizens have applied to the editorial office of Panorama.am, complaining that they have filled in the necessary online application form to become a beneficiary of the 9th coronavirus relief measure initiated by the Armenian governmnet, but have received no response so far.
Citizens do not understand whether they have been rejected or not. Some of them had to visit the nearby bank to find out that the sum had not been transferred to their account yet. Others keep submitting an application over and over again, further complicating the situation.
Judging by the complaints on social media, the problem is widespread.
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan issued clarifications on the matter on Sunday, shortly before midnight.
"Dear beneficiaries of Action 9,
Payments envisaged by the program will continue on Monday. If your application has been approved but you have received no message yet, don't worry, payment notifications are sent in parts to avoid bank queues and not to put citizens’ health at risk,” she said on Facebook.
The minister asked citizens to visit the bank the next day after receiving the message or after finding their names on the payment list posted on online.ssa.am website.
“Thank you for your understanding. Stay healthy!” the official added.
The 9th social support program covers families with a child aged 0-18, where both parents do not have a registered job.
• Support type: lump-sum assistance for each child in the amount of 26,500 drams.
• Basic terms and conditions: The children and at least one of the parents are residents of the Republic of Armenia; the family is not eligible for a family benefit; in case one of the parents had a job before March 1, 2020, his or her monthly salary did not exceed 500,000 drams.
