First case of COVID-19 reported in Armenia’s Sevan
The first case of the novel coronavirus has been confirmed in Sevan community of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province, bringing the total number of cases to 63 in the province.
The other cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Vardenis and Mets Marik communities of the province, Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan said on Facebook.
Lusine Vardanyan, the head of the Health and Social Security Department at the Gegharkunik Regional Administration, told Panorama.am that the contacts of the Sevan resident with COVID-19 are being tracked at the moment.
She said the person had been in contact with a confirmed case but had not developed any symptoms before being tested for the virus.
