Number of military jets were spotted in the sky above Yerevan on Monday, and the sound of aircraft has raised concerns among the residents. Panorama.am turned to Spokesperson at the defense ministry Shushan Stepanyan for comments.

“The pilots of the RA Air Force conduct this year’s rehearsal of the parade on the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War,” Stepanyan said, adding on May 9, the crews, including the Russian pilots of the air base in Erebuni will fly over Yerevan and Gyumri at 11.00 to perform an air show.

Meanwhile, the Southern Military District of Russia’s defense ministry reports that the main rehearsal of the air show took place on Monday. “The crews of new Su-30 SM multifunctional fighter jets of the RA Armed Forces will take part in the demonstration for the first time,” the source said.

It is noted that apart from Su-30SM, MiG-29 and Mi8МТВ aircrafts will fly over Mother Armenia monument in Yerevan. The event will feature some 20 units of military equipment and planes.
