Pashinyan: My position on Artsakh settlement remains unchanged
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan states that his position on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict remains unchanged, reiterating that any solution to the conflict is impossible unless it is acceptable to the peoples of Armenia and Artsakh.
The PM’s remarks came in response to Bright Armenia faction MP Naira Zohrabyan who asked Pashinyan to share his position on the matter against the backdrop of the recent statements of the Russia foreign minister and Azerbaijani defense minister.
Speaking at the parliament on Wednesday, Pashinyan stressed no Armenian leader has presented his stance on the Artsakh issue as frequently as he has done.
“No leader has been so public and transparent over the Karabakh conflict as I have been… We have a clear-cut stance irrespective of all other positions existing in the world. Naturally, there are positions differing form ours in the world, as well. This whole peace process is about whether we manage to bring our positions closer and form a common stance,” he said.
He reaffirmed his stance that no solution to the Artsakh issue can become a final deal unless it is acceptable to the Armenian and Artsakh peoples.
“We will come up with such a solution when the foreign minister and I see that there is an option that can be considered and become acceptable. Unless we put forward such a solution, the rest are just positions,” the prime minister said, promising not to add or remove anything from his stance and not to even "erase or add a single comma” to his wording.
