Some coronavirus patients have been at hospitals for 40 and more days – minister
Some of the coronavirus -infected patients have been at hospitals for 40 days, health minister Arsen Torosyan said during the Q/A session at the parliament on Wednesday.
Torosyan’s comments came at a request of an opposition lawmaker to comment on the cost of patients’ hospitalization for the state budget. Torosyan insisted the cost may vary depending on the patients’ health condition and period of their hospitalization.
“There are patients who stay at hospitals or hotels for 40 or more days. These are the cases with severe COVID-19 symptoms and a long virus-shedding period. The patients are kept at hotels and hospitals for healthcare purposes only based on the symptoms and their health condition,” Torosyan said.
