Coronavirus cases in Armenia top 3,000 on May 8
Armenia has confirmed 145 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of cases to 3,029 in the country as of 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, the Ministry of Health reports.
33 more patients have recovered from the disease with the total number of recoveries now standing at 1,218.
The number of COVID-19 fatalities has reached 43 after one more patient died on Thursday.
The latest victim was a 48-year-old female patient who had an underlying chronic health condition, the ministry said.
Also, one case of death was registered on Thursday when the patient had tested positive for coronavirus, but the cause of death was another disease. The total of such death cases is 10.
1,758 patients with COVID-19 are currently undergoing treatment.
As many as 29,205 tests have been performed in the country since the disease outbreak.
