Armenia extends state of emergency until June 13
Armenia is extending the state of emergency until June 13, the government discussed the relevant draft decision at the cabinet sitting on Thursday, Armenia first declared a month-long state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 16 that was extended for a month on April 14.
The draft decision says that the state of emergency declared to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic continues posing a risk to the public health and may lead to the violation of people's normal living conditions. The decision also cites the coronavirus statistics in the country as of May 12 with 3538 confirmed cases of the disease and 47 deaths.
The proposed extension of the state of emergency is set to be debated at the country’s National Assembly and enter into force once approved.
