Georgia has no plans to extend the state of emergency
Georgia has reported 26 more recoveries from the coronavirus this morning increasing the total number of recovered patients to 419. Meanwhile, six more people tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday, bringing the total number of the cases to 677. Agenda.ge reports that twelve people have died from the virus-related complications, while 246 people remain infected.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia earlier announced that the government don’t plan to appeal to President Salome Zurabishvili to extend the deadline of the State of Emergency after 22 May.
The curfew which restricts movement outside of the home between the hours of 21:00 and 6:00 will be lifted. The State of Emergency was first instituted on 21 March.
